About the role
We are looking for an Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist who can demonstrate a high level of working MSK knowledge and experience managing patients with persistent pain.
You'll undertake comprehensive assessments of people with a wide variety of physical and emotional needs. You'll need to formulate, deliver, review and progress individual programmes and ensure effective treatment, specialist advice and timely discharge is achieved. This will involve appropriate utilisation of individual and group work options. You will work alongside other members of the MDT within the Pain Service to deliver and implement our Pain Management Programmes and exercise groups.
Developing and promoting a positive and dynamic image and culture, you will be key in fostering productive relationships with stakeholders such as local Consultants and GP's and provide support and training to other clinical staff and students. You need to be able to communicate understanding of the biopsychosocial model and provide evidence of how you incorporate these principles within your clinical practice. You need to have a thorough understanding of the psychological frameworks that underpin effective Physiotherapy care for people with persistent pain and explain how you use these frameworks to inform your assessment and treatment.
You should be motivated to continue professional development and be able to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team. Experience of working with patients one to one and in groups is essential. Expert knowledge in the assessment and diagnosis of MSK pathologies is expected and the ability to discern serious pathology or disease, and act accordingly. You will join an enthusiastic and dynamic multidisciplinary team and will be supported by other Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapists in Pain Management, Clinical Psychologists, an MSK Physician and Pain Consultant.
